An outline of each slide you should have in your pitch deck for investors 

1.

Title Slide

  • Logo, Name and tag line 
  • Social media handles that are active 
  • Website 
  • Contact info (email and phone)
2.

Problem

  • Start to build hook
  • What is the status quo and why isn’t it working?
  • What's the cost of the pain points
  • What is the cost (money, time, frustration)
3.

Market Opportunity

  • Who is/are your customer(s)? 
  • What is the market size of those customer(s)? 
  • What are the market trends that create a favorable environment 
  • TAM (Total Addressable Market, SAM (Sample Addressable Market)
  • Often they say too much and it’s not realistic and works against you and you lose credibility

Solution

  • One option: position it as an overview slide
  • Another more effective option: highlight the value in a way that directly ties back to the pain points in the problem slide
  • Functionality, features and key customers / clients you’ve signed…..
5.

Magic

  • What have we built and that cannot easily be replicated
6.

Business Model

  • Sales and distribution sales 
  • Who buys from you target customer 
  • Any gross margins 
    • Make sure any numbers tie back to numbers in the financials and key metrics slide as they will dig after the pitch 
  • Customers in the pipeline - predicted LTVs and CACs ? 
  • Repeatable and can reliably attract another customer with the same formulas - i.e. are you scalable 
  • Go To Market
    • CAC
    • Press
    • How are you reaching your target customers high level
7.

Competition Slide

  • Illustrates who else in space 
  • Should be able to speak to what is stopping competitors from copying you i.e. IP strategy / barrier to entry and isn’t easily duplicated
8.

Leadership Team

  • Who is on your team and why they are right to grow your company 
  • Educational Institutions 
  • Board of Advisors and sphere of influence can go here
9.

Financials

  • EBIDTA, COGs if post launch and makes you look stronger 
  • Key Metrics 
    • Revenues to date
    • Revenues projected for the next three years 
  • Not income statements or balance sheets 
  • Early stages want to see if revenue is doubling almost every year want to see a path to 10x 20x return 
  • Don’t want to see all of the assumptions here but you should be able to speak to them

  • How much are you raising - what will you do with the money

  • How long will the money last you? 
  • What we could do with half the amount and what we could do WITH DOUBLE THE AMOUNT

Target demo at the end

  • Buying behaviours 
  • Key demographics and info on them 
  • Include unit economics slide - where we are at now, and then where we project to be
